The World Architecture Festival is the "biggest architectural awards programme," as they themselves put it. Each year, they collect entries from around the world in a wide variety of categories (from future projects to complete buildings) and then decide on who will bring home the awards. This year, the jury will reconvene in Amsterdam in November — it will be the first time the ceremony will be held in the Netherlands, after having being held in Barcelona, Singapore and Berlin.

The jury will have to sort through the more than 1000 entries (coming mostly from China, Australia, the United Kingdom, Turkey and the United States). For now, the World Architecture Festival has released which entries were shortlisted. If you’re curious, you can see in the gallery the category of completed houses and villas.
