With international travel proving difficult at the moment, many people are turning to road trips to scratch their wanderlust itch. One company catering to adventure-loving campers has created a line of incredible bespoke hotels on wheels built inside old buses that are available to rent and to buy.

La Brigade du Voyage specializes in creating unique experiences for travelers wishing to get out and about in the United States of America. The initial concept test saw the team buying an old school bus and converting it into a traveling hotel to drive through 16 countries in Central and South America. “When we came back we understood that lots of travelers wanted to do some road trips but didn’t have a good vehicle,” Co-Founder of the company Paul Aubert told Lonely Planet.

From there the company began planning getaways inside other renovated buses, and had been offering tours such as Yosemite and the surroundings inside a yellow school bus, as well as an experience that leaves from Las Vegas and takes guests on an adventure across the national parks of the American west. The trips included a night of stargazing on board, activities such as mountain biking and canoeing, and entry to national parks, as well as catering throughout the day.

With restrictions currently in place for tour operators, the company has switched to concentrating on the other side of the business, designing and building bespoke vehicles for people interested in buying. Through MyBusHotel, the team has converted buses of different shapes and sizes, focusing on design and functionality. “Our goal is to create vehicles that are ideal for road-trips without losing comfort. With a team with [knowledge] in luxury hotels, event management, art cabinet making and of course travel, we design vehicles inspired by our own experiences,” the company said. Paul added that they hope to offer rental experiences again next year once restrictions have eased.

The current selection of buses to purchase includes Leon (priced at $58,000), a blue Chevrolet Express 3500 that can sleep up to three people and comes with a shower and Barbara, which has six bunk beds and one queen room all built inside an iconic Blue Bird All American School Bus for $64,000.
