A great chamber within London’s Tower Bridge has been converted into an improbable music venue. The south bascule chamber is normally only used by a 25000 tonne counterweight, which descends into it when the bridge is raised.

Twelve performances by the Docklands Sinfonia orchestra are scheduled for 26 and 27 September – although individual shows may have to be rescheduled if a tall ship makes a request to travel under the bridge. Read more: standard.co.uk
