The county government of Mombasa has announced plans to hold monthly street festivals in Uhuru Gardens next to the iconic Tusks along the Moi Avenue. The new fetes, dubbed the Mishakiki Street Festivals, will showcase Swahili dishes to local and foreign tourists. Tourism executives hope the regular events will smooth out the high and low seasons, ensuring an even flow of visitors throughout the year. Read more: allafrica.com
