Ballarat Tramway Museum

Victoria

Here you can take a ride on a vintage tram from the museum's depot along a 1.3km section of tramline around Lake Wendouree. Horse-drawn trams started running in Ballarat in 1887 but were replaced by electric trams until 1971; all can be viewed in the museum (open Tuesday and weekends), with its tramcar collection, display panels and historic photographs.
