About Andrea
Germany-born Andrea caught the travel bug as a child when her mom whisked her around much of Europe, sparking her curiosity about other countries, cultures and languages. Andrea has logged a gazillion miles travelling to over 80 countries on five continents, carrying her dog-eared passport like a badge of honour. Along the way, she’s made many friends and lifelong memories, like snorkelling with sharks in the Galapagos Islands, watching the sunrise at Angkor Wat and breaking bread with Berbers in Morocco. After a couple of decades living under the California sunshine, she now does her best to keep up with the whirlwind energy of Berlin, her latest base of operations.
Andrea has authored or contributed to well over 100 Lonely Planet titles. She is a destination expert on Germany, Dubai and the UAE as well as many islands in Greece and the Caribbean and also works as a travel consultant, translator and editor.
