I am a travel and outdoor writer based near Washington, DC. I've written articles for The Wall Street Journal, USA Today's GoEscape and AARP.org. I've also written three guidebooks highlighting hiking trails in Virginia. I love quirky roadside attractions, biking rail-trails and hiking at state and national parks. I also run half marathons and am working toward completing one in all 50 states.
