About Isabel
I worked as a staff writer for a newspaper magazine and a glossy women's magazine for six years so I have experience writing interviews and features. During that time I wrote a weekly Q&A with chefs and other public figures about food. I lived in Buenos Aires for 5 years and speak fluent Spanish. I am particularly interested in the culture (music, art, films, literature), food & drink, history and landscapes of South America. While living in Buenos Aires I worked as a tour guide and travelled widely in Argentina and neighbouring countries, including Bolivia, Ecuador, Uruguay and Chile. I enjoy and have experience in cycling and train travel - I once travelled overland by train and bus from Singapore to Kathmandu, via Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, China and Tibet. I love hiking and have walked the Camino de Santiago in Spain, and also lived in Madrid for a year.
