About Paula
Born and brought up in Kenya, Paula has lived in Italy, Libya and Morocco. Now she’s largely London-based but hops between Marrakech, Milan and Venice, places she loves for their complicated, multi-layered realities and creative inhabitants. You’ll most likely find her in a souk or studio talking to carpet weavers or ceramicists or heading out on a boat or camel to see what really is over that horizon. This curious streak and love of meeting new people has resulted in dozens of Lonely Planet guides, as well as features for publications like the Telegraph, Guardian, Financial Times, BBC Travel, New York Times Style Magazine and Condé Nast Traveller.
