Diageo Reserve has bestowed the status of World Cocktail Capital to Cape Town.

This follows on the Mother City’s status as World Design Capital 2014. The announcement comes as South Africa gets set to host the World Class Bartender of the Year competition (31 August to 4 September). The event is the biggest and most prestigious mixology event, with the planet’s top 55 bartenders (from 50 countries) competing to be named the best in the world. The final takes place in Cape Town.
