If you fancy the idea of escaping to a private island with your travel pod of five besties, you could be in with a chance of booking a week-long stay on an entirely private island at a heavily discounted rate.
Hotels.com is offering one group the opportunity to vacation for a week over Thanksgiving on Friendsgiving Island, which is located off the coast of Florida. They will stay in a 5000 sq ft vacation home with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, which comes complete with a veranda, pool, boat dock and helicopter launch pad. Guests will be able to use a boat provided for their personal use throughout the week, as well as kayaks and paddleboards.
The seven-night stay takes place between November 14 and 21, and it comes with a private chef for one night who will cook the ultimate holiday meal, so the group can eat, drink and be thankful without having to worry about who will cook the turkey. Reserving just one night on this private island would typically cost US$1400 (€1182), but this seven-night stay is being offered for less than $50 (€42) per person per night for a group of six people.
"We've been inspired by how people have adapted their travel plans throughout the pandemic, taking trips closer to home and staying at our vacation rental properties," said Josh Belkin, VP global brand at Hotels.com. "Spending time with family and friends over the holidays may look a little different this year, which is why Hotels.com is letting you reserve an entire private island to keep those yearly traditions like Friendsgiving."
Friendsgiving Island is available to book on a first-come, first-served basis from Tuesday, October 27 at 10am ET on this link here.
