Ancient Perre

More than 200 rock tombs pockmark the hillside here, remnants of what was once one of the Commagene Kingdom's major centres. The site retained its importance during the Roman and Byzantine eras before being abandoned. A rambling walkway leads around the necropolis, which contains a diverse mix of tomb styles from simple niches to vast multiroom catacomb vaults. It's 5km north of central Adıyaman.
