Armistice Bridge

Midcoast Maine

This bridge was once threatened with destruction after a larger span carrying US 1 car traffic was built nearby, but dedicated preservationists raised a hue and cry, and now all of Belfast – especially walkers and cyclists – enjoys this pleasant pedestrian footpath, which connects to the town's Harbor Walk. Inscriptions on the bridge are dedicated to locals who served in WWI.
